I have been an Attorney practicing in Florida since 1987 and have lived in the Central Florida area since 1994. I work in several practice areas including Criminal Law, Foreclosure Defense and Family Law. I have varied interests and experiences which perhaps have contributed to a more nuanced approach to the practice of law. For example, in the past I was a certified Family Mediator and began mediating neighborhood disputes as far back as 1981. Additionally, I have facilitated the resolution of conflicts within religious organizations. I have also been a Guardian Ad Litem on behalf of the Orange County Legal Aid Society wherein I investigated cases involving allegations of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

In addition to the above, I have a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College, which provides a greater understanding of the dynamics involved in the ending of a relationship and the divorce process.

This background influences my approach to the law in that not only is zealous advocacy required, but working with the client to consider the long term implications and consequences of their actions and demands made during litigation is as important as courtroom advocacy.

While certainly in family law matters trials are necessary to protect the interest of the client and to prevent harm to minor children, trials often represent a break down in the process and for that reason, when it is possible, settling cases particularly involving children is preferred.
